Vocations Prayer Cross Kit
The Story:
Covid was a tough time to meet men and women who were feeling called to priestly and religious life. Where common interaction and connection was absent, so too was the absence of vocation education, conferences and important personal meetings to discuss entering seminary and religious life.

The Vocation Office, inspired by prayer of the Joyful Mystery (The Visitation) of the Rosary and regularly offering a Votive Mass for "Vocations to Holy Orders", decided to start a St. Elizabeth Society. The St. Elizabeth Society is composed of three volunteers (pictured left) who have the mission of doing what St. Elizabeth did when she saw Mary after they had both conceived, she affirmed Identity and in her vocation. She said, "Blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb." The St. Elizabeth Society pray for vocations and seeks ways to better educate the community and support those called to priestly and religious life.
The hope was that each parish and/or school would purchase a Vocations Prayer Cross Kit that would be passed around to different families within the community. This could take place from week to week. The Kits were designed to be easy to handle, beautiful, prayerful and educational. The hope was that everyone in the diocese would have an opportunity to bring the Vocational Prayer Cross home to pray aloud as a family and to pray specifically for an increase to priestly and religious life and to pray for the priests in their own lives.
